Introduction

Project was carried out by secondary students from Hungary, Iceland, Poland, Romania and Turkey. The project had the aim of opening our students' mind into other cultures and we estimate that this was achieved quite well. For this reason we created a common website and brochure about the activity we did during the project time. The main themes that we concentrated on were literature, culture, science, sport and the main goal was to find within these themes some common links, something which has contributed to the common European Knowledge. In this cooperative work we also concentrated the 8 key competences were published in the introduction of Life Long Learning Programme in 2006. Five of them were incorporated the project aims as follows.

1. language competences both in foreign and mother tongue
2. scientific competences
3. digital competences
4. competences of citizenship and social activities
5. competences for cultural identification and ability of successful self expression

Schools from five different European regions were involved in the project and this was the case because we wanted to give our students the greatest chance to understand better different historical, natural and cultural aspects of European countries. We also invited students from socially and economically disadvantaged families and regions. In general the project was very succesful and our students got to know the culture of each other countries and established some common links, both historically, culturally and socially.
